Justification God's Greatest Work
Live Seminar by Steve Wood
Shortly after Steve Wood moved to Greenville, South Carolina, the city known as the “Buckle of the Bible Belt,” he kicked off an apologetics series with a seminar on Justification. He worked hard to make his message simple enough for teenagers and young families to grasp while at the same time offering the most comprehensive presentation on Justification that he has ever delivered. To Steve’s surprise, three professors and about a dozen theology students from Bob Jones University (a campus known for its strong anti-Catholic sentiments) came to the seminar.
Steve’s new seminar Justification: God’s Greatest Work, is powerful, heartfelt, hard-hitting, and effective. It was obvious that Steve’s thesis that Martin Luther’s notion of Justification by faith alone is unbiblical was disturbing to the Protestant theologians present. Why? Because Martin Luther claimed that the entire Protestant tradition depended on the truth of sola fid?: “If this article stands, the church stands, if this article falls, the church falls.”
Collapsing this pillar of the Protestant reformation is only the beginning. Steve goes on with characteristic clarity and charity to show that God’s gift of justification includes more than just being declared externally righteous by God (as Luther thought), but includes actually being made righteous by God’s grace. In a touching and inspiring conclusion, Wood explains that our justification ultimately includes becoming God’s children and partaking in His very nature.
Steve’s seminar will deeply aid your own understanding of the Catholic position on Justification, and it is also the perfect resource to share with a Protestant friend, even one who is a Protestant minister.
